The Department of Computer Science at the University of Tübingen invites applications for the position of POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER (E13 TV-L, 100%). The position is due to commence on May 1, 2019.

The position will be part of the Neuro-Team headed by Prof. Dr. W. Rosenstiel. We are looking for a candidate with a degree in Computer Science, who is particularly interested in doing research in brain computer interfaces with medical applications. A strong background in (real-time) signal processing in the context of electrophysiological (EEG, EMG, MEG) data as well as BCIexperience are required. Knowledge in machine learning, especially deep-learning methods, is very welcome together with corresponding expertise in programming languages (e.g. C, Python,
Java, Matlab). Interest in medical applications including work with patients in areas like stroke rehabilitation, ALS, and neuroprosthetics is required.

As a part of this postdoctoral position, the successful candidate should develop an independent research profile. It is also expected that he or she will co-supervise doctoral students and teach at
the Master’s level. Candidates should be fluent in English. The ability to speak German is helpful, but not mandatory. The postdoctoral position consists of an initial two-year contract with the possibility of further  extensions. The University of Tübingen offers excellent research facilities, particularly in the area of machine learning as well as its medical applications. The University plays a major role in Cyber Valley as well in the Tübingen Research Campus. Tübingen is one of the German Universities of Excellence and has three new Clusters of Excellence since the beginning of 2019, one of which is dedicated to ‘Machine Learning in Science’.
