Membership for BCI users, their family members or caregivers

We are excited to introduce a new, discounted membership type for BCI users and their family members or caregivers.

This initiative will benefit both the BCI Society and the broader BCI field by fostering greater involvement from BCI users. As members, BCI users will have opportunities to participate in Society events, engage with researchers and industry representatives, vote and run in board elections and volunteer for committees and initiatives that shape the future of the Society and the field.

This is a pilot program for the 2025 membership year and will be evaluated at the end of the year.

Eligibility: Applicants for the discounted membership fee must have experience using a BCI system as part of a research study and/or in daily life that 1) meets the Society’s definition and 2) functions or would function as an assistive technology or rehabilitation device for the applicant. BCI users accepted under this membership category may also invite one caregiver to join at the discounted rate.

Membership fee: $20 per year for each BCI user and caregiver.

Application process: BCI users are invited to submit an application, which will be reviewed by the Membership Committee.

          Global Membership Initiative

The BCI Society wants to ensure that membership fees do not unduly restrict who is able to join our society.  We are pleased to introduce a reduced membership fees determined by the member’s country of residence. Determination is made by using tables listing low income and low-middle income countries as defined by the World Bank. That is, members based in low income and low-middle income countries pay 20% and 40% of the full-member fee, respectively.

Please note you must be based full-time in the applicable countries in order to be eligible for the discount. Please Contact Us  to receive the membership code.
