We are hiring a Senior Research Officer in the Essex Brain-Computer Interfaces and Neural Engineering Lab in the Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex Department at the University of Essex, to work on PaiNeuro, a project developing objective measures of acute pain from clinical EEG.
Working with a large EEG dataset, recorded in collaboration with Vestre Viken Hospital Trust in Norway, the post holder will develop and evaluate machine-learning methods that detect pain-related EEG activity and generalise to previously unseen patients, using deep learning, Riemannian geometry, transfer learning and one-class classification.
We are looking for someone with a PhD in computer science, electronic engineering, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, machine learning or a related field, strong Python skills, and experience applying machine learning to EEG or other biosignals. Experience with Riemannian methods, transfer learning or clinical data is an advantage.
